In addition to bringing you the latest new about BIC Plastics toys, we’re going to keep an eye on customs created with our figures. Back in March, Vinyl Thoughts 2 featured two imaginative BIC Buddy Customs – one by Scott Kinnebrew and the other from Cody Phillips.
Scott’s piece recreates Wario, the arch-nemesis of Nintendo’s world-famous plumber. This piece features plenty of custom sculpting to recreate Wario’s outfit and signature mustache.
King Hippo comes straight from Cody Phillips’ imagination. The piece makes excellent use of custom sculpting for a humorous look at a perhaps once fierce fighter on the wrong side of his prime. The paint effects on the face offer an interesting and eye-catching textural element.
Thanks to Spankystokes and Toysrevil for featuring these excellent examples of the possibilities of the Bic Buddy platform (created by Marka27). If you’ve recently created (2012) a Bic Buddy custom you’d like us to consider featuring here, please let us know via Twitter (@bicplastics).
